Prevalence of AD in a minority population with a history of TBI Lead Investigator: Sanaa Mahfouz Institution : McDaniel College E-Mail : shm007@mcdaniel.edu Proposal ID : 960 Proposal Description: Minority populations are understudied. Like other diseases, genetic factors may show differences in the prevalence of Alzheimer's in minority populations. TBI is a known risk factor for neurodegeneration and could play a role based on the prevalence of AD in minority populations. I am going to compare minority populations in four groups: no TBI/no AD (control) with TBI/no AD no TBI/with AD with TBI/with AD. The aim of this study will be to see if there?s an association between severity of TBI and age of diagnosis of AD in minority populations when compared to the majority population.
